Peruchazhi (English: Bandicoot) is a 2014 Indian Malayalam political satire film written and directed by Arun Vaidyanathan.It features Mohanlal in the lead role, while Mukesh, Ragini Nandwani, Vijay Babu, Baburaj, Aju Varghese feature in supporting roles. The film is produced by Vijay Babu and Sandra Thomas under the banner Friday Film House and distributed by Friday Tickets and Fox Star Studios. The film released on August 29, 2014 in 500 screens worldwide, making it the largest distribution for a Malayalam film.
The film is about Jagannathan a political consultant from India, who goes to work on a campaign for the California Governor's race where he uses tactics standard of Indian politics to win the election. The film throws light on the political situation in America, and speaks the similarities between the politics of India and the US, the two largest democracies of the world, in a humorous way.
